My amazingly awesome video about how to free up a stuck VW parking brake has gone viral! almost 3,500 views! Wow!

I mean, viral compared to my other videos with a whopping 30 views... It’s all relative I guess! I’m a youtube star!

Makes sense. People are always looking for ways to fix their broken VWs

My highest viewed video was a full length Top Gear special I posted. I was one of the first YouTubers given the gift of unlimited video length for being on YouTube since 2007 and never getting any infractions or anything. So the first thing I did? Uploaded two full length Top Gear specials the day they came out. One had like 4 million-plus views before it was taken down and the other had 2 million. I tried re-uploading them in a mirrored format but too bad, the BBC was already watching my channel with a close eye.

Interestingly enough, I wasn’t punished for it. The videos were removed but my rating remained the same.

Nice! People are always looking for ways to watch full length shows. I have a full length movie I’ve been meaning to post but I’m not sure it’s legal. I guess the worst case scenario is that they take it down, right?

That used to be the worst case scenario. I think the DMCA gives original content owners more power nowadays.

Ah, the old days of uploading shows/movies in 15 minute segments.....

My most viewed video is a crappy dashcam video of a Tesla Model s launching like a rocket in front of me, back when they were kinda new-ish. 56k people have watched that grainy dark not quite HD footage.

Well this is a 1974 movie, but it was re-released on DVD in the 2000s. But the original movie had an awesome soundtrack, and the DVD release couldn’t get the licensing released for some of the original songs, so they dubbed over the original music with some awful synthesizer action sounding music - absolutely horrible. I took the original audio track and layed it over the DVD video so it has the clean video with the original audio - so there’s some “artistic modification” - it’s not just a rip of the DVD. Not sure if that counts or not ;)

Hmmmm, it might be worth a try. Usually it’s the big money maker type of things that get taken down, like people trying to post full length new movies.

Here’s my viral video from last year with almost 100k views. Jet Blue flight 29 landing with no front gear. My uncle works in the tower in Nassau and sent the video to me.

The next with about 30k views was one of the first videos showing the different exhaust modes on the new Camaro SS.

Both awesome videos! It’s pretty damn impressive how long that jet held the nose up before it finally settled down. Not surprised that one had a lot of views. What really surprises me is that I posted this one last year, and just a month ago I was surprised to see that it had 1400 views. In the last month it’s had 2000 more views! I don’t understand why, maybe it’s showing up more in related videos as more people have the same problem... anyway, VIRAL VIDEOS!!!!

Well, reading about it sort of compares to the despecialized editions of star wars - fan/enthusiast made but uses original material. The difference is that the audio from the 1974 version cannot be had anywhere. The old VHS is not available to purchase anymore. I happen to own both versions, I picked up the VHS at a local video store’s going out of business sale.

It probably got posted in a thread on a popular forum.

It’s the same poor frustrated guy in his garage fixing his single broken caliper, with the video on replay.

Likely. I think I tried to share it on vwvortex once, but failed. That site is good for reference for known issues, but difficult for anyone to actually troubleshoot a problem due to all the riffraff and noise.

That’s how I felt. This was the 3rd time I replaced it.
